Tough Luck E'Valor But Great Team Spirit! Gerald, E'Valor
The second league game for FPSG FPPL 2020/21 was underway and E’Valor FC were up against Mogura. It was going to be a tough game as expected, with Mogura seeing plenty of possession of the ball and pressing hard as a team. Mogura had plenty of shots on goal but were unable to find the finish. E’Valor defended stoutly but were unlucky to find themselves trailing at the break. The breakthrough finally came for Mogura after they were awarded a free kick at the edge of the penalty area. The strike was deflected off the wall and into the back of net. It was 1-0 to Mogura at half time.
E’Valor switched formation in the 2nd half, playing with 2 strikers up front. Forward Ryan had a shot well saved by the Mogura keeper and winger Michael had a few half chances too. E’Valor had their keeper Kai Zhe to thank for as he made a series of crucial saves to keep them in the game. It was Mogura who got the 2nd goal of the game though, following a swift counterattack. E’Valor then pushed forward with all their men and went all out to get a goal back. Their efforts were finally rewarded as they were awarded a penalty following a handball after some good work by Max who switched the ball to Michael down the right wing. Michael duly converted from the spot and it was game on. E’Valor FC continued to surge forward forward for the equalizer. But it was not to be, as Mogura got the 3rd goal following another counterattack. The ball struck the post and their forward converted the rebound to put the game to bed. Mogura ran out eventual 3-1 winners. It was tough luck for E’Valor FC, but good team spirit shown by the players!

A New Start! By Sebastian Cheng, Team 89
A new start. Team89 seem tired so was controlled by Mogura. A speculative back lob caught all by surprised to let Mogura lead 1-0. Team89 woke up but were denied clear chances and GK saves.
2nd half
A pep talk to tighten and attack gave Team89 the adrenalin to come out playing. With MOTM Andrew doing timely cutoffs to prevent Mogura from attacking. Good assists by Liang, Fuhang and Khai's selfless runs gave him the 2 chances to score to win it 2-1 for Team89
Mogura were very sporting

League Game #1
Sunday 15th Mar 2020
Time: 1500-1700
It was the opening game of the Skypark Arena FPSG FPPL 2020/21 Sun league and E’Valor FC was up against Velocity. The game began brightly for E’Valor as the team had plenty of possession and created chances to score. The first real chance of the game came after winger Michael was brought down in the box following a challenge. Qiang had a great chance to put E’Valor into the lead but saw his penalty came off the right had side of the post. That did not put the Knights down as they finally broke the deadlock when Vivek’s shot from outside the box curled into the net. Velocity fought back and managed to get an equalizer after their striker pounced on a loose ball in the Knights penalty area to make it 1-1. It was all square as the game went into half time.
The second soon went underway and it was Velocity who took a surprised lead following a long shot just after the halfway line by their midfielder which looped over E’Valor’s keeper. E’Valor were determined to score and needed a moment of magic from their man of the match Max, who scored 2 goals both from outside the box. It was 3-2 to E’Valor and the game was put to bed when Jay smashed the ball into the net from a tight angle following a lay off from a corner kick. The match finished 4-2 to the Knights! It was a great start to the leauge for E’Valor FC and a well deserved 3 points!

SkyPark Arena FPPL Sun League 19/20: Team 89 6-0 Redbacks
It was the final game of the season for Team89 and they wanted a record of clean sweep of winning all 16 games. It took a while before RedBacks conceded through a weak back pass and a mistake. Both were pounced on by strikers Mohd and James. RedBacks defended well and had their chances but failed in their finishing.
2nd half Team89 could see a tiring Redbacks team, thus attacked all out but it took a while to score 4 goals in a 15min time span. RedBacks never gave up trying to break the duck, and they came close but stout defending by Team89 and a fine save by their keeper helped them keep a clean sheet.
Final score 6-0 for a perfect end of the season. W16 L0 D0

SkyPark Arena FPPL Sun League 19/20: Team 89 5-0 Redbacks
1st meeting of the season between Redbacks and Team89. Game started cautiously with Redbacks playing a high line. However, they were attacked continuously and from a well taken corner by Kelvin, Kenneth headed it in to open the score. Numerous through runs were blocked by Redback's defence till a cross found Mohd , who was unmarked, to make it 2-0. Redbacks had 2 good chances but they shot wide! Good play to and fro.
In the 2nd half, Redbacks were tiring and again through runs by James found the goals and he completed a hat trick. He also won a penalty which went unconverted! Redbacks tried to break the duck but their poor finishing let them down.

SkyPark Arena FPPL Sun League 19/20: Dark Horse 2-13 Team 89
It was a game which Team89 wanted to win and they went all out to attack relentlessly. The goals came. However, they were also caught off guard twice in the first half to lead 7-2 at half-time.
In the 2nd Half, Team89 were relentless again, giving DarkHorse no chance to control the game at all and with ample subs as opposed to DarkHorse, a tiring DarkHorse conceded another 5 goals. However, Darkhorse didn't give up, still trying their best against a Team89 which was determined to win at all cost. The game was won by Team 89 but kudos to a sporting DarkHorse. SkyPark Arena FPPL Sun League 19/20: Generation Y 1-4 Team 89
An eagerly anticipated match between the top 2 teams in the league. T89 started brightly and were rewarded with the lead after Gareth released Ehab down the right. The striker beat 2 defenders before slotting the ball into the net. A defensive mistake gifted a penalty to GenY after the referee adjudged that the keeper had brought down the on rushing striker. Cooley converted from the spot by GenY and the teams went into the break 1-1.
T89 came out all determined in the 2nd half. From a resulting GenY corner, T89 managed to break up play and launched a quick counter attack. Ehab with the ball just inside his own half took on 6 GenY players before slotting home to give T9 the lead. Another contender for goal of the season. 2 quick penalties in succession saw Ehab netting his hat-trick and Fuhang getting on the scoresheet as well. T89 eventually ran out 4-1 winners.

SkyPark Arena FPPL Sun League 19/20: Jolters 3-5 Team 89
Jolters were early getting ready. Team89 played simple no nonsense play. Tight play by Jolters made it very difficult for Team89 to score. James was unlucky not to open the account till Mohd's fluke goal. Jame's non- stop running created a penalty & FuHang neatly scored to make it 2-0.
2nd half Jolters were no pushovers. Mohd's solo effort made it 3-0 but Jolters counter was misread by Team89 and ensuing miscommunication between keeper and defenders let Jolters a goal. Jolters scored another. Team89 Andrew, fed by Mohd ,made it 4-2. It was 4-3 as Jolters sneaked one in, till FuHang's shot mishandled by Jolters GK made the scoreline 5-3 to Team89. A well played game by both teams.

SkyPark Arena FPPL Sun League 19/20: E'Valor 2-3 Team Lara
E’Valor FC were up against Team Lara for league game 10 of the season. The Knights began the game brightly and scored the first goal of the game with a low shot taken by forward Christon from outside the box. The Knights saw plenty of possession on the ball, with winger Brandon causing problems for Team Lara down the left-hand side. The Knights had plenty of chances to score, but they did not convert them and were made to pay as Team Lara scored from their first shot on target. Soon after, Team Lara converted again when their striker powered a strong left foot volley into the net with Knights keeper Jameson unable to keep the ball out despite getting a hand to it. The Knights then got the equalizer they deserved just before half time when captain Galindo finished off a cross from Christon following a fine team attack. The game headed into half time with the score level at 2-2.
The second half began with the Knights attacking and trying to get a third goal. However, it was Team Lara who took the lead from a fast counter attack and were 3-2 up. Knights winger Brandon then came the closest to scoring as he ran inwards from the left wing and beat the defender, only to see his shot hit against the crossbar. The Knights were ultimately unable to break down Team Lara’s resolute defence as they held on their lead for a 3-2 victory.

SkyPark Arena FPPL Sun League 19/20: E'Valor 3-3 Redbacks
League game 9 of the season for E’Valor FC saw the Knights up against Redbacks once again. It was previously a close game between both sides, and it was yet another game where both teams were head to head with other in an intense match. Redbacks began on the front foot and took the lead first. But their lead was short lived as the Knights responded shortly after with a beautifully taken free kick taken by winger Christon. The Knights kept possession well and had chances in front of goal but did not manage to convert. Soon Redbacks were back in front again following a good finish by their striker after a good cross from the right wing. The game was heading to half time when the Knights finally got the equalizer they deserved. Winger Ben whipped in a good cross from the right wing which was duly converted with a header by Knights captain Galindo. The game headed into half time level at 2-2.
The second half began with both sides making changes to their line up and bringing in fresh players on for a change. The Knights took a surprise lead when a header by Jerome was spilled by the Redbacks keeper into the net. It was 3-2 to the Knights and Redbacks now had to chase the game. The Knights defended stoutly but were unlucky to concede from a corner kick during the dying minutes. This was a game where the Knights should have won but the result was probably fair for both sides as the game ended at 3-3 with both teams sharing the points in an evenly fought match!

SkyPark Arena FPPL Sun League 19/20: Tres Dos 1-2 Dark Horse
Even though first half was 0-0, wouldn't call it a boring defensive game, Tres dos started the stronger and should have buried at least a couple of chances to take the lead. Dark horse keeper was in top form again and it was end to end stuff as the half progressed and the Tres dos team was obviously more affected by the scorching heat on the last 5 to 10 mins of the half. That was where Dark horse should have also buried a couple of their open chances.
Second half begin in a more conservative fashion for the Tres dos team, preferring to hold back. And hit the horsemen on the break. It was a smart move considering the horsemen was at the moment fitter team on the field. Honestly the forward should have finished another open chance before finally James broke the deadlock through some excellent work from Satish and Vijay in the 60 min. It seemed the game was headed for a draw as Tres dos equalised with 10 mins left. But the horsemen prodded on and was rewarded thru a long ranger screamer winner in the dying minutes of the game by Sulaiman.

SkyPark Arena FPPL Sun League 19/20: Dark Horse 1-3 Mogura
It was a tight and competitive game between the physical, disciplined Japanese and the Horsemen. 1st half was tight and Dark Horse missed a couple of chances to go ahead. Mogura also had a couple of chances well saved by Ahmad, Dark Horse's keeper. The deadlock was finally broken with the last kick of the 1st half with a lapse in defensive concentration from a quick free kick. 1-0 to Mogura.
Second half began in similar fashion. Both teams were strong and determined. Dark horse wanting to equalise and Mogura, to their credit, not sitting back and wanting to add on to their slender lead. Striker Vijay finally gave the goal Dark Horse wanted so badly, capitalising on a defensive error. The finish was on a supreme level a lob from an acute angle leaving the keeper no chance.
After the water break, both teams went on the jugular, hungry for 3 points which will leave the loser just below the other. Mogura though took their chances well from another poor pass in defence to put the Japs ahead. Victory was finally sealed from a corner kick though the referee did miss a blatant foul on Dark Horse's last man. Final score 3-1 to Mogura.

SkyPark Arena FPPL Sun League 19/20: Redbacks 5-3 Dark Horse
Despite a long lay off, Spiders managed to scrape through a 5-3 win.
The Spiders were down 1-3 in the first half. Solitary first half goal contributed by Aiman finishing beautifully from Ayul’s cross from the right.
In the second half, the Spiders stepped back by applying the basics, such as playing ball to feet and avoiding unnecessary early challenges. All that simple play allowed Spiders to contain Dark Horse attackers. Then it was an Eddy showcase of attacking prowess, snatching an hat-trick after Ayul added the second.
Final score 5-3 to the Spiders to jump to 3rd in the FPSG standings.

SkyPark Arena FPPL Sun League 19/20: Team 89 11-1 Dark Horse
It was Team89's 4th game after a break and they wanted a win.
1st 2 goals came closely after 10mins and that made it difficult for Dark Horse to recoup. Dark Horse though even when down by 4, still went in search of a goal which they did get through T89s GK mistake but credit must be given to the Dark Horse player to pounce on it.
That woke T89 a bit and they answered with 3 goals, 1 spectacularly scored by Peter.
2nd half started and game was scoreless for 15mins as T89 could not find their scoring boots. It was Dark horse playing up that created through balls for T89s players to score 4 to make it 11-1.
Credit to Dark Horse for they never gave up. Ref was good. Opponents fair

SkyPark Arena FPPL Sun League 19/20: Team 89 5-1 E'Valor
Today was a tough game as E’Valor FC were up against Team 89 who remain unbeaten in the league.
E’Valor started the game nervously and were unable to cope with the pressure from the Team 89 players. Team 89 controlled the game and their attacking play mainly focused on getting the ball down both sides of the wings and sending crosses in. E’Valor managed to defend well for the first 15 minutes, but the defence was caught out when Team 89 won a free kick in E’Valor’s half and scored from the resulting set piece with a good ball floated in over the defence. It was soon 2-0 to Team 89 when their No.7 cut in from the left wing and squared to his teammate who was well open, and he duly finished with a nice placed shot into the top corner of the net. E’Valor FC struggled to create any clear goal scoring opportunities and the game went into half time at 2-0.
The second half begin with E’Valor trying to find an equaliser, but instead it was Team 89 who scored 2 quick goals on the counter in a space of 5 minutes. E’Valor managed to get goal back though, with defender Patrick heading the ball into the net following a corner kick taken by winger Christon. That goal got Team 89 taken aback and they began to lose their shape of play. E’Valor found their momentum and kept pushing to try to get another goal. Striker Nicholas almost scored when he raced into the right side of the Dark Horse penalty box, but his shot went just wide of the left-hand post.
T89 then regained back their composure and took control of the game. They continued to press forward and E’Valor had their keeper Burhan to thank for after a string of good saves kept them in the game. But the game was all but effectively over when Team 89 scored from a well taken free kick from outside the penalty area and they could have made it 6 from the penalty spot following a handball in the box by winger Jerome. The ball rattled the crossbar and was cleared away by E’Valor defence.
The fulltime whistle went, and it was another loss for E’Valor FC as the game ended with a score of 5-1.

A quick fire double after the break gave T89 a 4-0 lead. Some slack defending from a corner allowed E’Valor to pull a goal back before kelvin wrapped up the 3points for T89 with a wonderfully curled free kick from 25 yards out.

SkyPark Arena FPPL Sun League 19/20: E'Valor 1-5 Dark Horse
It was a cloudy day and the weather was perfect for the league game between E’Valor FC and Dark Horse.
E’Valor started without their player Brandon who was suspended for this game and they struggled to cope against the high press from Dark Horse players. It was soon 1-0 to Dark Horse after their striker powered a shot from outside the box into the bottom corner.
E’Valor needed to fight back and they did get an equaliser when midfielder Karwee pounced on the rebound to finish off after the Dark Horse keeper saved an initial effort from striker Stanley. But E’Valor’s lead was short lived, as full back Michael lost the ball deep in the opponent’s half and Dark horse scored their second following a swift counter attack.
Dark Horse were unlucky not to make it 3-1 after they saw an effort come off the goalpost twice and cleared off the line by the E’Valor defence. It was 2-1 to Dark horse at half time.
The second half begin with E’Valor trying to find an equaliser, but they could not create any clear-cut chances to trouble the Dark Horse keeper. Dark Horse kept possession well and continued to attack on the counter. E’Valor had their keeper to thank after a string of saves kept the score line at 2-1. But ultimately E’Valor succumbed to the pressure after Dark Horse striker scored the all-important third goal following another well placed shot from outside the box.
A mistake by E’Valor defender Patrick gave them a fourth and they continued to grab a fifth goal late into the game as the game finished 5-1 to Dark Horse.

SkyPark Arena FPPL Sun League 19/20: E'Valor 1-5 Dark Horse
This was a way stronger E'Valor team than the one we faced 2 years ago.. The horsemen expected a hard game and their hard running, movement and fitness gave the horsemen a lot of problems at the start.
For once this season we were back to virtually full strength and had the services of our top Scorer Vijay. It was no surprise when Vijay opened the scoring about 25 mins into the game with a crazy touchline run and cross by Helmi.
Undaunted, E'Valor came back with an equaliser just 10 mins later. Helmi then put the horsemen back In front with a mazy dribble and solo finish just before HT.
Fair to say second half was all horsemen.. Defence was tight, our physical strength in midfield provided us with a distinct advantage. Yama in a single anchor role was able to outmuscle and provide for our strong front 5. Missing a series of chances, the 3 goals scored in the last 10 mins were probably well deserved with 2 well taken goals too. A hat trick for Vijay in his first league game of the season and a goal of the season candidate goal from Elias.
It was points long overdue after 3-2 losses and misses in 4 league games already this season.

5 mins before halftime, Jolters were awarded a pen after a handball by Cheng of t89 which they converted. Halftime score was 2-2.
Determined to get all 3 points, T89 came out of the break all guns blazing and were rewarded with their own penalty after Cheng Wei was brought down in the box. Cagey and scrappy in the first half ended a stalemate 0-0.
Second half started brightly for Team Lara. Went in front with a hard fought goal by their hard working Striker. The Spiders fought back and got an equalizer through a wonderfully struck free kick from Acap. The game can go either way. Raff was switched to play the Striker’s role to inject speed, did just that. Freed himself from the right and drove a low shot that beaten Lara’s Custodian, 2-1 to RBFC.
Five minutes to the final whistle Team Lara’s never say die attitude gotten two goals in the dying minutes. Their Striker gotten into a good position to meet a cross from the right and equalized. Team Lara got another and the winning goal from the very last kick of the game.

SkyPark Arena FPPL Sun League 19/20: Team Lara 1-1 E'Valor
It was a cloudy day and great day to play football. We were up against an organized opponent, Team Lara.
The first half started quite evenly between both teams having good opportunities to take the lead. E’Valor had a few good chances but were unable to find the last pass to finish the chances. The knights continued pressing and came close a few times but were unable to convert those chances. That resulted in a 0-0 stalemate at half time.
Both teams continued to press in the 2nd half in search of the first goal of the game. Team Lara almost took the lead moments into the 2nd half, forcing E’Valor’s goal keeper to make a brilliant save to turn it onto the post for a corner. Throughout the entire game, both teams kept pushing with The Knights being unable to convert their chances and certain smart saves from Lara’s keeper kept it at 0-0. However, one brilliant moment of counter attack by The Knights released Brandon and he delivered a superb shot into the far post of the net, making the score 1-0 to E’Valor.
After which, E’Valor held on to defend this slender 1 goal lead with goalkeeper Jameson making a string of beautiful saves to keep it at 1-0. It wasn’t until the last kick of the game which Lara had a corner well delivered and struck into the net on a volley to make it the final score of 1-1.
It was a brilliant well-fought game, certainly worthy of league material!

Game of two halves with two different result. The Spiders dominated the first half and scored two goals through Eddy and Izad.
Plenty of chances were missed between the two Forwards, nine clear cut opportunities in total. To have equal opportunities of playing time regardless of game stature accommodating the last minute players,
Team Manager made a wholesale changed to the front line. Chances came far in between with the backline tiring.

Mogura FC 4-0 Darkhorse
Disappointing performance against the well organized and disciplined Japanese Team. The horsemen were out muscled by the Mogura team hard work and physicality .
To be fair, the horsemen tried hard , not giving up til the last min but somehow the usual passing and fluency never came in the match. The resort to pumping direct balls to the wings did not work either.
Is it a case of league blues or the unfamiliarity of practicing on a bigger field. ? The horsemen with only 3 defeats in the last half a year needs to find the answer soon.

SkyPark Arena FPPL Sun League 19/20: Redbacks FC 0-1 E'Valor FC
Narrow pitch of Bedok Green and weather favoured E’Valor youngsters hard pressing game. With their superior fitness and youth, E’Valor deployed the tight marking and relentless running leaving no room for any Spiders to play. The Spiders were restricted from playing their normal game.
Frustration grown among the Spiders with the astute tight E’Valor defending somewhat throw off every single Spider’s game. Hardly any accurate passes to the feet played. Every pass was met with a E’Valor player that would just want to clear the ball of every Spiders feet. It was a no nonsense defending like in the premier league.
The Spiders had a golden opportunity through Taufik late in the first half but the dynamic midfielder squandered the chance by blasting the ball over the bar. Right after that missed chance, the Spiders conceded a weak goal, leaving a man free inside the box for a tap in from a harmless corner.
Knowing the game would be difficult with a goal down, as E’Valor would packed their defence. RBFC thrown three Strikers to try to claw back the one goal deficit. The Spiders unable to contain their frustration which played in favour of E’Valor tactics. They knew they just need to identify the Spiders threats and continued with their hard pressing game. That did the job for E’Valor.

Moments later, Gen Y made it 2-0 following a mistake by E’Valor’s defence and it was 3-0 in a space of 10 mins as Gen Y scored following a corner.
E’Valor tried to get a goal back but it was all too late as the game finished 3-0 to Gen Y.

SkyPark Arena FPPL Sun League 19/20: Redbacks 2-1 Mogura
The Spiders had a nightmare in the first 10 minutes of the game when Mogura striked early through their skillful number 11.
Woken by the early setback, the Spiders began to raid Mogura by getting the ball early to our number 9. Multiple chances were created by the Spiders squandered chance after chance. Plenty of goal mouth misses and one on one opportunity went begging. First half ended 1-0 to Mogura FC.
The Spiders made a tactical switch by injected speed on the right to overpower their left full backs. Got the breakthrough from the right. Veteran Spider number 7 beaten their fullback and played a one two through number 9. Both RBFC’s number 7 and 9 were illegally tackled from behind inside the box. Without hesitation the Referee blown his whistle for a penalty. Eddy cooly blasted the ball to the bottom right hand corner to level the score.
The winner came in the last 5 minute of the game through a counter attack. From a Mogura corner, the ball was cleared by Huda to the path of Eddy. From the half way line, Eddy raced to Mogura’s goalmouth side step a defender and drive the ball low beating Mogura Keeper. 2-1 up for the Spiders! Mogura gotten a last minute direct freekick from the edge of the penalty box A superb strike from their number 11 well on target but RBFC’s custodian Wan was up to the task. He tipped off the ball over the ball with an acrobat save. RBFC Keeper saved the Spiders two precious points.
Final score 2-1 to the Spiders. Superb game superb sportmanship by both team.

SkyPark Arena FPPL Sun League 19/20: Tres Dos 4-4 Jolters
Match was played between two teams whom both hadn't met before. Not knowing the opponents it was a battle of wits.
During kick-off we were getting our tempo and were reading the opponents' movement and playing style. Tres dos was shaky and had little confidence when we pressed and attacked constantly. We capitalised on their loose touches and was able to deliver balls behind their defense line and finishing the opportunities. Our striker, Amsyar was able to find the back of the net twice with a finish assisted by Aziz for the first goal and chipped it over the keeper from a cross by jolters' left-back, Ahnaf for the second.
We were looking strong and had the composure to run the game. We started it off on a high. Knowing that we are front by two goals we slowly became complacent and was too relaxed. Tres dos came through with a cross from the left-wing through everyone in defense and slotted it in by the striker. They were getting their groove. It was what they needed before the half-time break.
Starting off with the confidence boost they needed, they were over-powering us with their strength and wit. They were very effective in their communication and passing. They had possession for the majority of the half and had the technical abilities to create chances and stop us from attacking. They were constantly attacking and pressing.

Scorching heat of 35degC were too punishing for both set of players. The game was relatively in a jogging pace. Nevertheless, the Spiders went 3 up in the first 20min. Goals came from the boots of Izad and two goals from Eddy shocked Dark Horse. First half ended 3-0 to the Spiders. Adamant to come back from the deficits, the Stallion started pressing early not allowing the Spiders to play. Nevertheless the Spiders squandered multiple one on one chances before the Stallion got their 2 goals. Final score ended 3-2 to the Spiders.

SkyPark Arena FPPL Sun League 18/19: Team 89 1-1 BSH
A top of table game where both teams could not afford to lose. Intense play with BSH sporting a very different lineup while Team89 still having positional absentees.
BSH went for the jugular, but fine defending and superb goalkeeping by Johnny (Team89's MOTM) kept the 1st half entertaining but goalless.
2nd half play was still intense with good refereeing which kept play decent and fair. A splitting ball saw BSH score in the 65th min. Then they defended in numbers. Team89 threw everything and everyone into attack. A gifted free kick on the 76th min, well taken by ZhiWei, found Peter who's glancing header deflected the ball into top right corner for the much needed equaliser. This ensured Team 89 to stay top of the table. Good intense game with a few physical challenges here and there with emotions rising high.

SkyPark Arena FPPL Sun League 18/19: Team 89 5-1 FC Storm
Cool day on a good pitch between Team 89 & FC Storm.
Team89 came out hunting for goals to hopefully overcome their sagging confidence. Resolute defending by FC Storm and comical misses by Team89 kept the game at a stalemate until Dom from centre of the midfield ran in for a fine shot at goal. That goal made Storm come out to play leaving their defence open and spaces to form which allowed Luke, Khai, Andrew to get their goals.
2nd half FC Storm wanted to break their duck, and their stout defending limited Team89 to a single goal by James on the 70th min. FC Storm scored on the 80th through a penalty. Good enjoyable game!

SkyPark Arena FPPL Sun League 18/19: Team 89 FC 2-2 Generation Y
Nice weather for a high tempo game for the battle between 2nd placed and 3rd placed in the league table. Team89 was in control and missed some good chances till tremendous play by new recruit Khai opened the scoring. GenY defended resolutely till half time.
In the 2nd half, Gen Y came out searching for the equaliser and they did from a long range shot after some fine dribbling skills. 1-1.
Then, from their corner, Xiang curling a ball in for their striker to just nudge it in. 1-2 to GenY.
Team89 went searching for the equaliser and were constantly denied till James ran for a loose ball to roll it in on the 70th min to win a precious point for Team89.
Well played with both teams gunning for a win but a draw was a fair result.

SkyPark Arena FPPL Sun League 18/19: Generation Y 0-4 Team 89
Perfect weather for a much awaited game between 2 teams who have not met, fighting to stay in the race for the League. Team89 started cautiously then into attack mode but GenY did just as well. Till a corner from Kelvin let Capt Dom 20th min to open the score. Team89 then pressed for another. An attacking play between Kenneth & Kelvin, letting Kel cross for Capt Dom 30th min to head in perfectly for 2-0. It is Capt Dom's dream start and game. Then Team89 defended resolutely.
2nd half GenY had to come out to score but were denied by Team89's good defending and 2 good saves one like a whale splash! by GK Johnny. From a counter by Team89 a corner kick cleared to the side by GenY was swung in again to find Kenneth's header into the far corner 55th min for 3-0. GenY had no choice but to attack which left their backline open for Team89's 2 strikers to out run their defenders. Between James & Kelvin, a perfect 1-2 to Kelvin 60th min to soundly seal the game for Team89

SkyPark Arena FPPL Sun League 18/19: FuryReds 1-4 FC Storm
FC Storm won their 1st game of the season with a well executed tactical strategy by all of their players. The team played with a lot of heart and rode the waves of attack and pressure by Fury Red in the last 10 min of the game, as they were able to sniff the win.
Fury Red pressed high in the 1st half and squeezed a defensive lapse to open the scoring in the 15th min. Substitute FC Storm goalie - Derrick did well to palm the chip by Fury Red but the rebound came off the crossbar for Fury Red striker to slot into an open net. But Derrick made amends by pumping a goal kick long to the opponent half which the defender missed and allowed FC Storm striker - Benny to burst into open space behind the defense line to coolly equalize for FC Storm. Midway through the half, FC Storm attacking midfielder - Leandro dazzled past 5 challenges from the middle of the field and broke free to volley home the goal of game for FC Storm to lead 2-1. Just minutes from the break, FC Storm's hardworking right midfielder - Joshua Koh raced down the right into the penalty box and was fouled. Benny, calm as a cucumber, converted the penalty to extend the lead to 3-1 at the break.
2nd half started with equal tempo from both sides and in a spur of crazy moment, FC Storm's composed left back - Daryl lobbed the loose ball from an attacking corner at the center line back into Fury Red's penalty box and the bounce of the ball caught the opponent goalie off guard and into the goal. 4-1 for FC Storm! Fury Red pushed hard to fight back but were unable to convert 2 open chances and FC Storm won the game 4-1.
It was a clean and competitive game that was well refereed and was played in excellent fair play by both sides.

SkyPark Arena FPPL Sat League 18/19: TeamCuzz 5-0 Cosmos
Buoyed by last week’s record-breaking victory, we continued the momentum against a good Cosmos B side blessed with some promising young players.
The five goals were certainly good, but the manner in which we didn’t allow Faizul to get much action was even more impressive. Bob got the ball rolling as he nicked the ball across the line after Amsyar won the header from Haidhar’s corner. We weathered some Cosmos storm after that before their own players gifted us, particularly Haikal, with goals for a commanding lead at halftime. He unselfishly opted to assist Hus for the second.
Haidhar was a man-on-a-mission in the second half, scoring two goals from midfield. A deft Dinie flick set up his first, while his second was a well-taken penalty after he was fouled in the area. Notwithstanding the victory, the Ref had an average game with plenty of dubious calls throughout.

SkyPark Arena FPPL Sun League 18/19: Team 89 7-0 Mogura
The Japanese side Mogura was short-handed on this very hot day and was only able to field 10 men for this league game. Team 89, with a deep bench, on this particular day took advantage and was in command the entire game.
Team 89 was up 3-0 at half time and ended the game at 7-0.
Our respect goes to team Mogura for playing with high intensity and sportsmenship despite only having 10 players for the game.
Honourable mentions go to Team 89's striker James, who was clinical in front of the net with 4 goals, and Goalkeeper Siebren who wowed the crowd with a number of spectacular acrobatic saves.

SkyPark Arena FPPL Sat League 18/19: TeamCuzz 8-3 Black Rose
TeamCuzz came out in full force for this top-of-the-table clash, racing to a four-nil lead by the water break though goals from Dan, Hus & Amsyar (twice).
Our fourth exemplified the way we approached the half - us intercepting the ball from Black Rose’s kickoff & making quick exchange of passes before Amsyar’s snapshot. Andrew extended our lead through his own hard work before Black Rose got one back through a peach of a cross from their striker/MoTM. 5-1 at the break.
Second half was much closer, with Dinie’s comeback goal, Hus’ penalty & Amsyar’s free-kick completing a good offensive TeamCuzz display. Our defence did well to deny plenty of Black Rose’s pressure too, but the opponents did manage to pull two back; one from a contentious back-pass decision. They almost got another through a clever free-kick too but met Dane Gea at his best. Full time 8-3.
Thank you Black Rose for the match & see you guys again soon in the final leg!

SkyPark Arena FPPL Sun League : Redbacks 1-3 Team 89
The two familiar sides require no introduction. The battle between T89 and Redbacks took place in very hot and humid conditions. The game was expected to be an exciting one as both sides were still contending for the league title.
T89 started off the game with the upper hand and controlled more of the possession early on in the game. T89 strikers left their scoring boots at home and missed several chances in the first 15 minutes. Eventually, in the 20th minute, after a series of attack, left winger Chengwei finally put one in and put T89 up 1-0. In the 25th minute, T89 striker Peter was fouled in the box and right winger Kelvin calmly converted the spot-kick to make it 2-0.
In the 65th minute, Redbacks capitalized on a T89 defending mistake and came back 1-2. The game became intense with only one goal setting the two teams apart. However, in the 70th minute, T89’s pair of strikers put the nail in the coffin when James intelligently dummied a through ball to create space for Luke’s clinical finish. Final score 3-1.
Redbacks MVP is their goalkeeper who came up with a number of superb saves.

SkyPark Arena FPPL Sat League 18/19: TeamCuzz 13-1 FC SkyPark Arena
Sizzling heat welcomed both teams at our new home, but our football in the opening exchanges was anything but that. After much frustration & perspiration from all over the pitch (& beyond), we finally broke the deadlock 15 minutes in through Naz in rather controversial circumstances. Naz continued his impressive goal-scoring form of scoring in 4 consecutive games, but little did we know he had more in store. The floodgates started to open from then on with goals from Wan, Hus, Amsyar, Hyder & Naz again, with Amsyar, Redzuan, Hus, Bob & Sharif picking up assists along the way. We had other good shots on target too, but those were equally matched by SkyPark’s GK.
The highlight of the half & probably the match goes to that one rare SkyPark attack, which left Ashah at the mercy of their right winger. With calmness, panic & determination rolled into one, our custodian’s touch helped the shot onto the post before fortuitously & gleefully coming back out. The MoTM award was decided right there & then, notwithstanding the other events that were to follow.
6-0 at the break.
We freshened things up at halftime but the objective remained the same. And that led to even more free-flowing football at the opponents’ half, & four balloon shots towards (or rather, away from) their goal too. It was a tight contest but Sharif won the Balloondor Award. 7 more goals followed, with Bob’s solo, Asensio-like run the first of the lot. Naz then converted a penalty to complete his hat-trick, after Dinie had won it in his first appearance after travelling the galaxies to reach the match venue. Next, Hyder found Hus isolated on the right for the winger to do what he does best.
Haikal then scored his brace from inside the box after smartly/fortunately keeping himself just about on-side on both occasions, with Hus & Wan responsible for crosses from the right. He didn’t celebrate the goals though as his mind was already thinking about at least 14 changes he intends to make before the next FPL deadline. Inspired by Shaw’s earlier heroics, Izzat tried 3 shots at goal soon after coming on again, but only the final attempt resulted in a debatable, spinning assist to Sharif. The latter’s shot to the inner, back post was as ferocious as his celebration. Welcome to the working world bro! We wrapped up the proceedings with Amsyar’s routine worldie from distance. Ken’s throw started it, according to him.
SkyPark got a late consolation with virtually the last kick of the game. 13-1 it ended. Thank you SkyPark for the match & see you guys again soon in the final leg!

SkyPark Arena FPPL Sun Leage 18/19: FC Storm 0-8 Team 89
Team89 was out to try win this game to make up for the loss last week. But again started with weak numbers.
But the determination paid off when James pressed the Storm defence to rob the ball to score. That really demoralised Storm after they defended resolutely. Then more mistakes by Storm allowed 3 more goals. 1st half 4-0.
2nd half Storm didn't give up but their loose balls let Team89 latch onto balls to punish them. James and Peter missed and great saves by their GK till Team89 Kenneth got red carded. But Team89 played tight and got the loose balls by Storm to punish them with another 4 Storm at no time gave up trying to break the duck. Very sporting team FC Storm.

SkyPark Arena FPPL Sat League 18/19: The Continental 1-7 TeamCuzz
Sarri would probably be proud of the way we pressed in the opening exchanges, which set the tone for the rest of the match. It was plenty of hard work before we got our first, with Ben scoring from Haidhar’s through-ball. Ben played a pivotal role for the second too, with Redzuan side-footing from the former’s Low pass. But as always, both assists should go to Andrew for his industrious work upfront. 2-0 at halftime.
The second half started in the same way as the first, but only to be abruptly disrupted soon after by a ‘streaker’. If only he came during the halftime break instead. Anyway, after the restart, we pressed higher forward in our bid to match Cik Sulaiman’s challenge of keeping the recent momentum of scoring lots of goals in the second half. That inevitably led to more gaps behind which TCC explored, but they met the Great Wall of Naz, Sharif and Hafeez, and some say Ashah.
Our third came from one of such resolute defending, which swiftly turned to attack with Haidhar going on an explosive run. Amsyar stole the ball from him at the end, but released Ben with a perfectly-weighted pass to toe-poke one home. Haidhar’s subsequent war cry left many bewildered, & others, amused. But we clearly didn’t mind that when he went on yet another rampaging run & his deflected pass ended with Akhim to finish high beyond the reach of the opposing custodian. The winger appeared to point to Haidhar, seemingly to thank for the assist, but actual sources suggest he was thanking the deflection instead. Naz then ‘faced’ home Amsyar’s corner kick, to keep up an impressive 3-goal run in as many matches, hence giving him the MoTM accolade for this week (his bro won’t be happy, but that’s healthy, sibling rivalry for you).
Best goal of the match then followed with a free-flowing move down the left that led to Asyraf releasing Amsyar for a classy, curling finish. TCC then got one back much to our frustration. And with Sharif & Faizul both on the pitch to concede, they should consider sharing a humble pie. But Redzuan’s pass to the marauding Asyraf, who seemed to be proving a point to Izzat, saw us finish the game on top. 7-1 it ended.
Thank you TCC for the match!

SkyPark Arena FPPL Sun League 18/19: FC Storm 1-3 Generation Y
FC Storm and Gen Y played to a blazing Sun afternoon game in the energy sapping Dunman High field.
Gen Y pressed mostly in FC Storm's half and found the net midway through the 1st half when a mix up between FC Storm's goalie - Wenrong and left back - Daryl gave the striker an open goal to tap in. A smart play by the lanky Gen Y striker just outside the box increased the lead as he placed a soft strike that caught Wenrong off balance. But FC Storm worked on a counter attack move when Wenjie's deft layoff allowed Leandro to burst into the box and strike his opener of the season and pull one back for FC Storm. Halftime 1-2.
2nd half changes allowed FC Storm to gain momentum in the game. But a skillful spur of the moment by Gen Y winger #12 ghost past 3 FC Storm players and was finally brought down in the box to gain a penalty, which was calmly converted to restore their lead. FC Storm applaud Gen Y for a clean and well contested game which Gen Y won.
FC Storm also appreciate the excellent referee who managed the tempo and temperament of a beautiful Sunday afternoon game.

SkyPark Arena FPPL Sun League 18/19: Mogura 1-4 Team 89
Another scorching hot day for a league affair between T89 vs Mogura in Jurong East. T89, although nursing a few injuries in the squad started strong and maintained most of the possession early on. However, Mogura managed to score first after T89 lost control of the ball just outside the penalty box. Mogura striker was first to get to the loose ball and curled the ball into the top corner of the net. Mogura 0-1. T89 never gave up and stuck to their game plan. T89 left winger Cheng Wei was active all afternoon and managed to dribble through Mogura’s defense and scored in the 25th minute. Mogura 1 – T89 – 1. The score remained the same going into half time.
After the break, T89 continued to press on. T89 missed quite a few finishing chances. Until 50th minute, midfielder Dominic slammed home Tuan’s low cross and put T89 up 2-1. The game opened up as Mogura tried to tie the game. T89 took advantage of the open space and scored two more time with Cheng Wei and James scoring in the 60th and 65th minute. Final score 4-1.
Well played by both teams under hot and humid conditions.

SkyPark Arena FPPL Sat League 18/19: SkyPark Arena 0-9 TeamCuzz
Buoyed by last week’s victory, TeamCuzz came into this game with high confidence, particularly with the presence of key defenders (according to Izzat). But misplaced passes & bad touches littered the opening minutes much to our frustration.
Despite this, we got that crucial first goal soon after through Andrew’s thumping finish, after good work from Amsyar, Haikal & Husaini in the build-up. A few minutes of frustration ensued again before Amsyar finished off with a diving header from Haikal’s peach of a cross. It remained open after that, with both sides having chances but denied by the opposing custodian. Dane, in particular, was spotting a new pair of Uhlsport gloves, whose grip was so good that his throw ended up on Faizul’s back. Then came Naz’s thunderbolt from outside the box, which would have made his bro proud. We scored another before the break after Bob released Husaini to find Haikal in the box; the latter did not disappoint.
The flurry of goals continued in the second half with Amsyar (from Naz’s throw), Husaini (from Amsyar’s lay-off), Bob (from Redzuan’s cheeky set-piece), Haikal (from Andrew’s pass) & Amsyar (header from Bob’s corner-kick) getting on the scoresheet in that order. But the highlight had to be the one that was denied, when Amsyar raced clear to beat the GK & with the goal at his mercy and the simplest chance to secure yet another hat-trick, he passed it sideways to an on-rushing Bob, who was wrongly caught offside. That selflessness gets our self-proclaimed Romelu the MoTM award.
Thank you FC SkyPark Arena for the sporting game. The fact that I can’t recall the Ref having to intervene much throughout the game is a testament to how clean the game was played, & the fair play shown by both teams.

SkyPark Arena FPPL Sun League 18/19: Mogura 3-4 Tres Dos FC
It was a tremendously hot sunday as Tres Dos FC looks to kick off their campaign after the long break.
Having not been up to their own standards in the first two game of the season, Tres Dos FC player manager got them to playing for fun with no pressure.
The game started off to the worse possible start as a mistake by our RB Waji cause us a goal when he played a soft backpass to the goalkeeper. Tres Dos was putting Mogura on the back foot and the goal came as a blow to them. Silly goals has been the downfall for Tres Dos this season. Nevertheless, Tres Dos continued the pressure and newly appointed Zulhelmi pop one up for the equalising goal. Tres Dos continued to press and Zulhelmi again was the mastermind as his shot loop over the goalkeeper and put Tres Dos in the lead. Just before half time, wing wizard naziir was push forward by manager Ali and he responded with a neat turn and finish to put Tres Dos 3-1 up and in a comfortable position.
2nd half resume and Tres Dos continued to press and having make wholesale changes to the line up, their CM took a shot from near the halfway line upon seeing our GK coming off his line. A superb goal by the midfielder. As the hot weather continue to punish and tire both team a cross by Mogura winger was deflected into the net to make the score 4-3 with 3 mins remaining. Tres Dos manage to hold on and secure their first 3 points of the season.

SkyPark Arena FPPL Sun League 18/19: BSH 6-3 FC Storm
FC Storm started the game calmly trying to rebuild confidence from the current streak. FC Storm was able to match BSH in a clean competitive 1st half, except for a stunning free-kick from BSH outside the penalty area. BSH led 1-0 at halftime.
The 2nd half started with Derrick unfortunately deflected an own goal to increase BSH's lead. But the referee started to lose control as the game wore on as BSH started to go in hard against FC Storm's players - aiming namely at Ken, Leandro, Wenjie and PY. One incident was when Ken was kicked off the field and had stud marks on his right shin even though he had shin pads. A more serious incident was when Leandro was swept off his standing feet from behind. PY and Wenjie were constantly brought down and players from both sides started to intensify. BSH were leading 3-0 when FC Storm started to substitute Jit into the game for Leandro, to avoid any further risk for Leandro.
FC Storm changed the gameplay and gain momentum as 2 quick goals were scored by Singwei and Wenjie.
BSH countered with direct diagonal balls from the back and restored their lead to 5-2. Game ended at BSH winning 5-2.

SkyPark Arena FPPL Sat League 18/19: Black Rose 0-4 TeamCuzz
Team Cuzz started the game strongly in search for the early goal but was denied by the resolute defending of Black Rose. Eventually, Team Cuzz got the all-important breakthrough when Haidhar latched onto a through-ball from Husaini and the former finished off with an Isco-like shot from a tight angle. The goal gave us confidence to drive on for a second, and we managed to get it soon after when Redzuan laid the ball off for Amsyar, who smartly toe poked the ball in for a healthy two-goal lead at half time.
In the second half, Black Rose grew stronger as they threw more men forward with their star player Oswind dictating play in the middle of the park. However, we got our third against the run of play, through a swift counter attack. Haikal’s searching diagonal pass found Haidhar who tore the net with a brilliant thunderous strike. He’s finally stepping up after so long. A couple of minutes later, Amsyar showed his predatory instinct again by being the quickest to react to a great cross by Husaini. MoTM goes to Husaini for his mazy runs and skills, consistently threatening Black Rose’s defence and providing two assists.
Thank you Black Rose for a sporting game. Looking forward to the second leg!

Tres Dos FC started the game strong and flexed their muscles down the flanks. They pushed and tested both flanks with overlap plays. But FC Storm full backs held strong in the 1st half. Most play were camped in FC Storm's half for the first 20 mins.
Against the run of play, FC Storm had a clever break starting from Andy Ho from right back. He drilled a diagonal cross over the top for Benny to break behind Tres Dos' defence. Benny was able to flick the ball on the volley from the on-rushing keeper to open the scoring. This spurred Tres Dos to switch their gears and pressured FC Storm further. On the last attack of the half, a miscommunication between FC Storm's last man Irving and keeper Wenrong for a Tres Dos cross, allowed Tres Dos' striker to pick up the fumbled ball and slot in the equaliser.
Half-time 1-1.
FC Storm made 5 changes for the 2nd half to enable player rotations. Non-regular substitute Jit was not able to come back to help in defence on 2 occasions allowed Tres Dos' tricky winger to score 2 goals from left sided deep crosses to win the game, extending FC Storm's poor start to the season.

SkyPark Arena FPPL Sat League 18/19: Cosmos 3-7 Team Cuzz
In a last match before Ramadhan, TeamCuzz came out in full force against a good & energetic Cosmos side. Much has been heard about the exciting developments of Commonwealth Cosmos in recent months, & the support they had for this game was a testament to how good the project is doing.
We started the match in less desirable fashion but managed to get in front after good play by Hyder & Hus in the build-up. The latter was causing all sorts of problems in his first appearance after a long break. The young Hyenas got one back soon after, but up stepped our MoTM Amsyar - first to rattle the crossbar for Hus to head from close range, & then a deft lob from Haidhar’s through-ball - to give us that two-goal cushion. Cosmos pulled one back close to halftime to make it an interesting teamtalk for both sides.
The second half started in a similar manner to the first, with us looking to get more goals while Cosmos were ready to counter with pace. We got that lead again through Amsyar but once again, Cosmos came back with yet another goal against the run of play. Match was very much in the balance at that juncture until Redzuan’s diagonal pass found Haikal to finish sweetly beyond the goalie’s reach. Hus then came on again towards the end to put some gloss to the scoreline thanks to a couple of assists from Amsyar.
Match was certainly closer than the final score suggest. An exciting match with plenty of good goals/plays from both sides. Thank you Cosmos & Ramadhan Mubarak!

SkyPark Arena FPPL Sun League 18/19: Team 89 4-2 Tres Dos
It was Team89's 1st match in the new season and we started with a weak lineup. Both teams tried to control the centre. But a quick and fine goal by Fu shocked Tres Dos. Julio pressed and found an opening to make it 2-0. Then Tres Dos from a badly cleared corner scored to make it 2-1.
A great cross from the right found Luke's header to make it 3-1. In the 2nd half Tres dos came out attacking and some fine saves by GK Johnny kept the game tight till a Team 89 corner found Rizal to score 4-1.
A mistake by Team89 let Tres dos pull 1 goal back. But Team89 defended to keep the score 4-2.
Opponents were very sporting and the ref kept a tight game.

SkyPark Arena FPPL Sat League 18/19: Cosmos Commonwealth 1-3 The Continental
After a disappointing start to the season last week. We started the first half poorly with lack of press and clueless tactical positioning. Going 1-0 down after failing to defend a set piece. Second half than began with tactical changes from The Continental, and we started playing slick attacking football with high press. A good free kick and 1 on 1 finish from our left forward and an own goal by the GK after a great shot form Mhelvin secures the 3points for us.

SkyPark Arena FPPL Sat League 18/19: Real Altos 2-7 Team cuzz
TeamCuzz’s depleted squad started the brighter of the 2 teams, and that helped us race to a commanding lead in the first half. Asyraf’s nifty footwork was the pick of the goals, after he played a quick one-two with Sharif before slotting home for our fourth.
It could have been more had our strikers pulled off their cheeky rabona & chip towards the end of the half, but oh well.... The gaffer made personnel changes during the break, but it didn’t affect our tempo & approach to the game. We wasted further chances before finally putting one away. Credit to Real Altos who kept on playing & pulled two back as the match wore on.
But we ensured to end the match on a high when Sharif brushed Haikal aside to finish Redzuan’s delivery with aplomb. Based on fantasy points, Sharif (1 goal, 1 assist) & Redzuan (4 assists) should be the front runners for our MoTM, but in reality, we’d prefer awarding that non-existent accolade to those who excelled in unfamiliar positions - Hafeez & Ashah.
Thank you Real Altos for the game & we wish you the best of luck for the season ahead!

SkyPark Arena FPPL Sun League 18/19: Mogura 12-3 FC Storm
FC Storm were overran and outclassed by a much superior Mogura FC. Opponent had slick 1-2 passing and were well oiled efficient team. Mogura FC controlled the tempo of the game and could score at will. FC Storm had no reply to Mogura's tactics and learned a humbling lesson. The game pace was so quick that keeping tab of the score was difficult. FC Storm is in for a long season.

SkyPark Arena FPPL Sat League 18/19: Team Cuzz FC 5-0 The Continental FC
We started the new season/league in fine fashion against formidable opponents. Credit to TCC though, who despite starting the match with just 9 players, held us to a stalemate in the first 30 mins. Their GK’s spectacular dive to keep out an Amsyar shot was the highlight during that opening period. But Amsyar was not to be denied soon after, and that eased our nerves. Sharif came close to doubling our lead close to the break, but his deft flick came off the crossbar instead.
We finally got into full gear in the 2nd half, with quality finishes applied by Amsyar, Ben & Naz after good passing & movement in the respective build-up to those goals to make it 5-0. We were determined to keep a clean sheet & had Daniel and the defenders to thank for that when TCC suddenly upped their tempo towards the end. We weathered the storm successfully and went home with the 3 points.
Thank you TCC & all the best for the season ahead!

FPSG SkyPark Arena SAT CUP: GoT FC 4 - 1 Vivala Paris FC
It was a good start to the match from GoT FC with 2 goals within the first half an hour thanks to high pressing and high intensity forcing mistakes at the back from the opponents. The high press and constant pressure from the forward and midfield line meant that that the opponents were forced to execute long balls instead of play tiki taka football which was what they were attempting in the first half.
GoT FC gave away a sloppy penalty away as our GK, Kaylen, clipped the toes of the striker after breaking the offside trap.
2 spectacular goals in the 2nd half however, one beautifully constructed team goal and a wonderful individual turn and volley, ensured comfortability for GoT FC after getting into moments of nervousness in the second half. The relatively large field, tested stamina and positioning but our players adapted well in the typical boiling heat of Singapore to get our 4th win in a row and now look to overcome and take revenge against the table toppers next game week.
Referee was fair to both teams and was consistent. Good performance.
Opponents were classy and lots of the players had good sportsmanship during and especially after the match which was nice to see and be a part of.

FPSG SkyPark Arena SUN CUP: Mogura FC 4 - 2 Team 89 FC
Game on perfect weather.
Both team trying to control the game. Mogura going for every ball. But Team89 scored through header by Luke on 20th.
Mogura had a through ball but Team89 GK saved but the resulting corner was between his hands as well. 1-1
A bad pass by team89 got robbed for Mogura to score 5mins before half time 1-2.
2nd half
Team89 had to come out attacking, missed numerous chances. But a seemingly offside ball gave Mogura to score again 1-3. Team89 pressed on and were rewarded 2-3. With 10mins left Team89 went for broke missed chances again to equalise. Then got caught by thru ball for Mogura to score on 75th 2-4.
With 5mins wasn't possible to draw level but Team89 tried. Final 2-4 to Mogura who came with full strength! Well played game.

FPSG SkyPark Arena SAT CUP: FC SkyPark 1 - 8 GoT FC
GoT got into a comfortable lead in the early stages of the game. The game was ultimately decided at the start of the game when GoT took a 5 goal lead within the first 30 minutes. Lots of injuries and overseas travel meant our squad was thin but were well organised from start to finish. Dominant midfield play and good leadership from the defence ensured a second win in a row and going into the winter break with heads held high after a disappointing start to the season. FC SkyPark scored a fabulous goal as consolation that reminded us that complacency could cost us in the future if we lose concentration. Referee controlled the game well and was fair to both sides.

FPSG SkyPark Arena SUN CUP: J.A.S FC 1 - 5 Tres Dos FC
After last week draw against Team 89 which was a tough game, Tres Dos FC went into the game feeling confident. Tres Dos controlled the game and deservedly went ahead through Aqil in the first half. Tres Dos squandered their chances to put the game to bed early in the first half and went into half time only leading by 1-0. After half time, Tres Dos pick up the tempo and finish off JAS with 15mins more to play with the scoreline 4-0. It was then Tres Dos started playing abit too relaxed and JAS got on the scoresheet through some defensive lapses. At the end of the day Tres Dos manage to overcome JAS with a final score of 5-1.

FPSG SkyPark Arena SUN CUP: ESG FC 2 - 1 J.A.S FC
The weather was hot and ESG FC were the better team in general. We were short handed as our players are busy with our respective schedules. Despite our troubles, we managed to score first in the game. ESG FC however wasn’t going to go off easily as they clawed one back before the half. Second half began and both teams were attacking viciously. ESG FC persevered and maintained their discipline as the eventually scored another goal to get the win against JAS FC. JAS FC had a chance in the last minute which was unfortunately denied by the post. ESG FC’s striker, number 14 was really tough to break down. Responsible for both goals and was able to ooze past the defence with his pace. A real one for teams to watch. To the Right Winger of ESG, the whole JAS FC would like to wish you a speedy recovery and hope you’re able to get back on the pitch as soon as possible.

FPSG SkyPark Arena SUN CUP: Team 89 FC 2 - 2 Tres Dos FC
Match started tight as both teams eager to score first. Most of it was in mid field both looking for a break. At 15mins Capt Andrew took a strong shot at goal for the ball to ricochet into the net! Team89 1-0. Tres Dos were fit from a defensive lapse on our right. The ball was crossed to the back for Tres dos to equalise! 1-1 Team 89 pushed but miss cued chances 2x the bar! Till Fu dribbled by to chip the GK for 2-1 on 30th 2nd half Tres Dos changed their play and fresh legs pressed Team89 most of the time. But wasn't much danger till Tres Dos did a wonderful tiki taka to cut thru Team89s defence to shoot home for the equalizer! From then on both teams were on offensive but all attacks nullified!

FPSG SkyPark Arena SAT CUP: GoT FC 6- 1 Real Altos FC
Despite kicking off in the peak of the blistering heat, both teams played quality football. GoT FC got off to a great start by pressing hard and going on the offensive early on and were rewarded as we scored a screamer in the early stages of the game. First half ended 1-0 to GoT FC. We conceded a goal at the start of the second half and had a player stretched off due to an ankle injury caused by a nasty collision but this didn't dampen morale as we scored 5 brilliant team goals in the second half to get that all important first win under our belts. Referee was great and although there were a few extremely minor confrontational moments the referee handled the game well.

Real Altos unbeaten run for the year came to an emphatic end as they were crushed by a spirited GoT fc 6-1. The game started off in a very cagey manner but it was GoT who got the first blood as they took the lead early into the first half. But Altos kept pushing a an equaliser and soon it became a game of pressing and the other playing the smart counter Attack. It took Some good goalkeeping from both sides to keep the score intact as both the teams trudged for the half time break. Altos returned for the second half upping their tempo in search for the equaliser. After much pressing and some good defending from Got fc Altos soon started to find their way through but the shots were nowhere near target. But a good incisive run from Gautham saw him square the ball to striker Naga who missed it but it was winger deva who took it and smashed it to the Low bottom corner to bring the game to 1-1. Altos then took control and went in search for the coveted winner, but as the manner of the attacks always meant a high Defence line, it was Got who got their lead with just less than 15 mins to go. With injuries and lack of substitutions, Altos limited resources always spelt troubled as the energy of the opposition soon took toll on the away side as GoT scored 4 more goals in the space of 10 mins to end the game at 6-1.

FPSG SkyPark Arena SUN CUP: J.A.S FC 3 - 2 Mogura FC
It had been a demoralising week for JAS FC after losing the previous match. But we decided to use that as a motivation going into the third game against Mogura FC. It was a pinball game with each team going back and forth. JAS could have taken the lead but the Mogura FC's keeper miraculously managed to save the early penalty. With good buildup, Mogura took the lead first with JAS FC scoring the equaliser a few minutes later. 10 mins left for the game and the match was delayed due to heavy rain and lightning. After the heavy rain subsided, the match resumed and Mogura scored their second goal and it seems like they were going to snatch the win. With our ‘never say die’ attitude, we managed to claw one back through a drive from outside the D. Lady luck was on our side and we got the winning goal through a counter attack in the closing minutes of the match. Best of luck to Mogura FC for their remaining fixtures.

FPSG SkyPark Arena SUN CUP: Redbacks FC 1 - 5 Team 89 FC
T89, in recent good form, entered the 2nd game of the tournament against a familiar Redbacks side. T89 dug themselves a hole early in the game as Redbacks forward capitalized on a failed clearance by T89 defender in the 12th minute (0-1). T89 maintained their composure and carried on with their attack in search of an equalizer. In the 20th minute, T89 striker James brilliantly connected with midfielder Kenneth’s cross with a diving header and put the game all square (1-1). T89 continued to press forward and T89 midfielder Andrew was able to put T89 up by one in the 25th minute (2-1). In the second half, Redbacks pushed forward being a goal down and subsequently opened up space in their backline. T89 were able to put in 3 more goals (Luke 55th, Own Goal 65th, Mohd 75th) and remain unbeaten in the competition.

FPSG SkyPark Arena SUN CUP: ESG FC 1 - 5 Team 89 FC
Facing a strong ESG FC side in their first match, T89 elected to start the game in a defensive formation. The game was evenly matched until the 11th minute when a ESG FC defender made a crucial mistake and committed an OG when pressured by T89 striker Rahul (1-0 for T89). In the 23rd minute, T89 striker Luke turned beautifully on Chengwei's nicely threaded through ball with his first touch of the game and put T89 up by two goals (2-0). In the 30th minute, T89 was awarded with a free-kick 30 yards out. T89 midfielder ZhiWei placed a beautiful curler to the top left corner that was untouchable by the keeper (3-0 into the half time break). ESG FC started the second half with more offensive pressure. In the 55th minute, ESG scored on an intelligently taken corner that caught T89 defenders off guard (3-1). The goal gave ESG a sudden boost of confidence and T89 was forced to sit back and defend until the 65th minute, when T89 Julio was fouled inside the box and T89 winger Kelvin calmly converted the spotkick (4-1). In the 70th minute, T89 put the game away as Kelvin slotted in a low driven cross from ChengWei (5-1). Overall, an excellent performance by T89 in their cup debut.

Lady luck wasn't on JAS side as Family Utd managed to capitalise on our mistakes. Goals from JAS FC weren’t enough as the opposition managed to score five goals. Number 7, their left winger played well and he was able to penetrate the defence, setting up and also scoring, alongside with their striker, whom was also excellent. Best of luck to Family United for the remaining fixtures.

FPSG SkyPark Arena SAT CUP: Cosmos FC 2- 1 GoT FC
The match was very tight as both teams wanted to go for a win. Cosmos had quite a number of shots at goal but GoT FC GK put up a very good performance. Only after the 73th minute then Cosmos manage to lead by 1 goal. But it didn’t take long for GoT FC to equalised through a corner kick. But luck was on Cosmos side as Cosmos manage to scored a winning goal at the last minute.

Tight and even game, shots aplenty, end to end, exciting football. Either team could have won. One of our players sustained a severe head injury and taken to hospital but is on the mend. One of the opposing players was booked due to repeated diving but apart from those incidents it was a clean and fast paced game and the referee's performance was great. Hoping to win our first game soon as we feel we deserved at least a point in this game

FPSG SkyPark Arena SUN CUP: J.A.S FC 5 - 2 Redbacks FC
It was a good match between both sides. Redbacks FC played well despite the final scoreline. Our team had a hard time trying to penetrate their defence. They pressed well and that led to their 1st goal. Even in the lead, they maintained their discipline whenever they were on attack or defence. Redbacks FC’s Number 10 was outstanding. He was able to dictate plays, set up his teammates and was able to get to open spaces well. With them closing us down quick, our equalising goal had to go down to creativity of our players. The whole team gelled well and we managed to secure the win collectively. Credit to both teams for keeping their composure despite physicalities during certain moments in the game. Thank you Redbacks FC for the game and best of luck for their remaining fixtures.

FPSG SkyPark Arena SAT CUP: Real Atlos FC 6 - 4 FC SkyPark Arena
Real Altos kicked off their FPSG SkyPark Arena Cup with aplomb as they fought back from behind to win the game 6-4. Under the constant drizzle and slippery pitch Altos started off the game keeping their possession and holding the ball patiently while trying to find a breakthrough. But it was the opponents who looked the sharpest as they had more dangerous chances. They opened their account from an own goal from our centreback Ashwin who headed the ball into our own net. Shortly after they doubled their lead as a poorly handled powerful shot slipped through our goalkeeper's hand and crossed the line. But Altos weren't about to go down easily as their trademark interplay opened up wingback rasool who played a threading ball to our returning striker Deva who neatly finished it off at the bottom corner to pull back a goal. But it was once again the opponents opening up a 2 goal cushion as they made it 3-1 in 20 mins of game play. A reshuffle in tactics then saw Altos gear up the tempo with their relentless attacks again as Dee Nathan scored from close range as the ball was squared to him by attacker Gautham. The next 10 mins saw Altos being down 3-2 to going infront 4-3 as centreback Vinod equalised when a Long clearance from his own half saw it lob the keeper after an awkward bounce, and then a backpass which was caught by the keeper and Gautham scoring from the resulting indirect free kick to make it 4-3 Juz before halftime. Buoyed by the comeback Altos then kicked off the 2nd half upping the tempo trying to find for the safe 2 goal cushion. Both teams created chances equally but Altos came closest to opening up the scoreline by a mile but it was the heroics of the opposite goalkeeper which kept their team very much in the game and gave them the much needed dangerous motivation needed for them to smell a comeback. But it was Gautham who eased the nerves for a time being when he scored the 5th goal after being put through on goal by Dee Nathan. But SkyPark Arena FC weren't about to throw in the towel just yet as they scored their 4th to make it 5-4. With the tempos heightening and tempers flaring the game was at its edge as both team slobberknocked to find themselves in a next-goal-wins situation. And it was Gautham again this time putting the game to rest with another well timed through ball from Deva to dribble past the goalkeeper and make it 6-4 as the referee called the game to an end shortly after to go down as another explosive FPSG classic encounter!

It was first match of the Cup game. A very hot day, the game was played at a relaxed pace. Both teams had few chances first half and 0-0 at HT. Second Half and the match was wide open, end to end stuff without clear cut chances. In the middle of 2nd half we got numerical advantage by opponents' red card. However, we could not score although took a few close shot. At the end of game Redbacks counterattacked and it was chance to score for them but our defender blocked the shot by hair breadth. Game ended in scoreless draw.
